An Interview with Trevor Bleakley, W12A

1          OK Trevor, What’s the secret, your W12A team is producing some outstanding results.

The Girls love their soccer.

2          How often do you train and do all the girls turn up every week.

We train only once a week, many of the girls have other commitments including duel rego's.  The turn ups for training are outstanding, rain, hall or shine.

3          Which match this year has been your favourite?

We have only played 8 so far, but to date the match when I stopped them from scoring and making them play possession soccer.  We were playing KSD1.  I don’t think they or any one else knew what we were doing but one things for sure the girls knew.  The side line loved it, great soccer.

4          Tell us a bit about the girls, individually.

Individually there are many characters in this side.  We lost a few at the end of last year (which we all miss) and picked up a few this year. (Which are growing on use)I could write a book on all of them.

5          Do the girls all get along or?

(Girls will be girls) But I don't tolerate the girls being singled out (especially from each other) it’s a sad part of human nature and hopefully it’s something that I have passed on to them.  There are plenty of different personalities within this side but when it comes down to the nitty gritty and one of them are down, the others run to their aid.  That’s a sign of a team, not a team of individuals.

6          According to the draw this year you are now 8 wins for 8 games, your comments.

We have some hard games yet to come.  The girls are aware of this and in the next three weeks will face there major opponents for the year, they are looking forward to the challenge

7          Have the girls already been measured for jackets this year or is it a bit early for that.

This year, last year, no matter who we were playing or were we where placed the question of achieving anything has always been dismissed.  It is disrespectful to our opposition and anything can happen in any game played, it is not something that has been raised yet from the girls as they know my response already.

Any other comments!

This side has three great strikers in their own right, scoring some 57 goals in 8 games to date. We have only conceded 1 goal as well which means we have great defense, a Great Goalie, Sensational midfield, and manager that loves his job as well.  They all make it look easy, after all soccer is any easy game, we tend to complicate it.

All in all a great bunch of young Ladies and a bright future is instore for all, I am sure.

Regards Trevor Bleakley (coach)
