Today was a very special day for our team as we WON our first game of the season beating East Gosford by 4 goals to 1. All nine players were available to play today, and all nine played their special part in winning the game.  Today’s Captain was Alejandro, who was also goalkeeper in the second half. Alejandro played a wonderful game from the start, dribbling the ball on several occasions towards the goal and making some great tackles in defense throughout the first half. On two particular occasions Alejandro dribbled the ball from within his own half towards the goal and finished his runs with great strikes at goal scoring the teams first and second goals of the game. In the second half Alejandro was goalkeeper and made some great saves with his hands and feet and on occasions came out off his line and tackled the ball off the other team, WELL DONE Alejandro.  Our goalkeeper in the first half was Isaak, and he too made some great saves using his hands and feet. He too came off his line to tackle the other team and kept a clean sheet in the first half. In the second half Isaak showed great dribbling and tackling skills, and on two occasions dribbled the ball towards the goal and scoring two goals with two great strikes, WELL DONE Isaak. Another good performance was shown by Lachlan who tackled all game and got involved whenever possible. Lachlan ran all day kicking the ball towards the goal creating chances for his team mates to continue the runs, WELL DONE Lachlan.   Amberlee also put in a great performance today and was very unlucky not to have scored on a couple of occasions. Amberlee got involved throughout the game and made some great dribbling runs towards the goal only to have her shots saved by defenders or the goalkeeper, WELL DONE Amberlee. Grace today made some good contribution towards the teams win, involving herself whenever possible and making some good dribbling runs. Grace also created chances for her team mates by kicking the ball towards the goal, WELL DONE Grace. Taylor again today showed his increased involvement in the game. Today Taylor made some great dribbling runs and also made some great tackles, running back into defense and making great tackles which help keep East Gosford scoreless in the first half. Taylor ran all day and got involved all game, WELL DONE Taylor.  Daniel today also played a great game; he ran all day and made some great tackles. He also dribbled the ball from within his half towards the goal on several occasions making life difficult for East Gosford all game, WELL DONE Daniel. Copper today showed his great dribbling style, getting the ball and heading towards goal. Cooper was unlucky not to have scored today after dribbling the ball from his own half only for Isaak to take the ball and kick the ball in. Cooper made some vital tackles today and made his customary contribution all game, WELL DONE Cooper.  The last player I would like to mention is Thomas. Thomas showed once again his defensive talent by staying back in defense and making those vital tackles he is now known for. At the start of the game I asked Thomas to stay back in defense and he did so with great enthusiasm and dedication Thomas made some great defensive saves by kicking the ball out when East Gosford looked like scoring, WELL DONE Thomas.  Our first win of the season was eminent as we have showed great improvement during the second part of the season. Kim and I would like to thank all the parents who have contributed in making our first season a success. It was great to see Parents, Grandparents, other family members and friends there today to witness our first win. See you all next year.
