Win 1-0 In what has been one of the toughest ,closest comps I have seen for a long while (and I have seen a few). The young ladies of the W14As done our club and coach proud today. The opposition towering over many of our girls . But strength does not only come from size it also comes from within and i am here to tell you watching for the side lines we have plenty within. Seeing one of my midfielders hoble around the field with a bruise on her let the size of an orange (badly timed school snow excursion), another couple stuggling to maintain a steady breath with one of many bugs doing the rounds, a couple of damages from the the Saturdays duel rego games one would think it would have been acceptable to roll over. But even when the sick and wounded were of the field they were bagering to get back on. The only match we had played against or opposition was a 0-0 draw. That was a tough day as was today. Well done today Girls, Kincumber is next ,the team that won the grand final last year. Player of the match awards today went to Shana Jones (nice Tanny) and Tahlah who did not stop chasing. There were many other girls that gave there all and will all need to do so again. Excellent effort |

Well done boys. Ist year in A-Grade after two years as continuous Premiers in B-Grade. A feat not easily achieved. Well today was always going to be difficult against a committed Kincumber side. We could go on about what might have been and where did we go wrong but to be honest, loosing 6-5 in a penalty shoot out is not a disgrace. It could have gone either way and unfortunately today was not our day but we should ALL be very proud of our efforts during the year. It was only the bounce of the ball that made the difference. Great game by all and with lots of heart to come back when needed. My last match report for the year and I really want to thank every player for their courage and commitment during the season and for allowing Chris and I to coach you. It has been my honour and I am sure Chris feels the same. Congratulations to Daniel Barnes for being named MOST IMPROVED. I am sure you all agree with his selection. To the rest of you, you have all improved and raised up to another level and also grown into fine young men. Thanks also to the mum's and dad's for their support. I only hope we can do it again next year. |
